PM Modi launches ₹7,300-crore development projects in Manipur.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Manipur for the first time since the 2023 ethnic clashes and unveiled major projects worth ₹7,300 crore in Imphal and Churachandpur.

He announced 7,000 new homes, GST reductions for the Northeast, and promised jobs for displaced families. Modi emphasised dialogue between hill and valley communities to restore peace and said “a new dawn of hope and confidence is awaiting Manipur.”


Mizoram gets its first railway line and new Rajdhani Express.

Mizoram’s capital Aizawl is now connected to Delhi, Guwahati, and Kolkata through the new 51.38-km Bairabi–Sairang railway line and a Rajdhani Express service.

The project, worth over ₹8,000 crore, overcomes difficult terrain and is expected to transform trade, education, and healthcare access in the remote state.


Commonwealth Parliamentary meet strengthens democratic institutions.

At the CPA (Commonwealth Parliamentary Association) India region conference in Bengaluru, Speakers of 26 States passed a four-point resolution to increase public trust in legislatures, reduce disruptions in proceedings, and ensure greater youth and women’s participation.

Nepal swears in Sushila Karki as first woman Prime Minister

After peaceful protests against corruption, Sushila Karki became Nepal’s first woman PM, forming an interim government to stabilise the country.

Prime Minister Modi congratulated her from Manipur, praising Nepal’s commitment to democracy and calling her appointment a “remarkable example of women’s empowerment.”


Tourism revival in Jammu & Kashmir with major destinations reopened
